25 things.... :)
25 things I’ve
learned in the convent (in no particular order)
1.
If you want the chapel to yourself, pray at an
illogical time
2.
Label EVERYTHING…
3.
Leave notes
4.
Anytime after 9:30pm is considered “extremely
late”
5.
We should own an orchard at the rate in which we
consume fruit.
6.
Everyone has a hidden talent
7.
Nothing can ever be “clean enough”. (EVEN if it
sparkles!...You really have to work for something to be clean enough to meet
“nun standards” LOL)
8.
Finding cute AND sensible AND comfortable shoes is practically a lost
cause
9.
Dressing in layers is totally the way to
go…convents vary in temperature floor to floor: ranging from Sahara to Arctic.
10. The
chapel “after hours” is the best time and place to pray and think!
11. EVERYONE
should have a really awesome old nun-friend. Best. Advice. Ever.
12. Community
life is the most difficult but the
most rewarding thing to live
13. ALWAYS
give someone the benefit of the doubt
14. Prepare
a beautiful smile for everyone you meet…especially that one person who always
gets on your very last nerve
15. If
you need a car, you better sign it our days in advance. Otherwise, good
luck.
16. Be
yourself. There isn’t a “nun-mold”…don’t act like there is.
17. Make
time to do the things you love
18. Do
one thing you hate everyday. It might be getting up early, it might be taking
out the trash, but no matter what, do it with a joy-filled smile.
19. Talk
to Jesus as you would your very best friend.
Tell Him EVERYTHING.
20. Don’t
be nitpicky
21. Be
patient: with others AND yourself.
22. Be
aware: of others, of time, of space, of yourself.
23. Be
generous. In everything.
24. Laugh
a lot. It’s the best remedy.
25. Pray
always. Everything can become a prayer
